Sit-to-Stand
How to do it
Sit near the front of a sturdy chair, feet about hip-width apart. Lean slightly forward, press through your feet and stand tall. Slowly sit back down with control.
Use your hands on the chair or armrests for assistance.

Wear supportive footwear, keep water nearby, and use a stable chair that will not slide. Start with one round. Rest whenever you need to.

Stand behind a sturdy chair and lightly hold the back. Rise onto the balls of your feet, pause, then lower slowly.
Place your hands on a wall at chest height. Keep your body straight, bend your elbows toward the wall, then gently press away.
Sit tall with both feet on the floor. Slowly straighten one knee, pause briefly, then lower the foot with control. Alternate legs.
Stand beside or behind a sturdy chair. Hold for support and slowly lift one knee, then the other, at a comfortable pace.
Walk gently for a minute or two if comfortable, have some water, and notice how you feel. You do not need to push through pain to make progress.
